1795
Our story began as Sampson Bridgwood. In 1795 Sampson Bridgwood began manufacturing earthenware in Longton, one of the six towns of Stoke-on-Trent, England.
1980
First manufactured vitrified hotelware. We understood from the beginning the importance of performance ceramics for hospitality markets and believe vitrification is essential for these products. The Churchill Super Vitrified Body is one of the strongest in the world. Delivering presentation that lasts.
1984
Re-branded as Churchill. Through acquisition and growth the business needed a brand and name to reflect its position. The name and iconic lion logo represents strength and leadership.
1993
Churchill wins its second Queens Export Award. First won in 1988.
1994
Listed on the London Stock Exchange.
2001
Recognised as No. 1 in the UK hospitality market
2002
Alchemy brand launched. Our premium collection, designed to create the ultimate fine dining experience.
2011
London showroom opened. Our first permanent showroom outside of Stoke-on-Trent.
2014
Stonecast launch. Still popular and as fresh as when it was launched. A hand decorated range inspired by the seasons and fresh ingredients.
2015
Madrid Showroom Opened. Our first overseas showroom. Calle Princesa 2, Madrid, Spain
2016
New showroom at our UK head office.
2016
Stonecast wins Product of the Year in the Caterer’s Product of the Year Awards
2019
Rotterdam Warehouse Opened. Allowing for faster and seamless delivery to our European customers
2019
Purchase of materials supplier Furlong Mills. Ensuring supply security for the future.
2019
Acquisition of Dudson brand.
2020
Churchill China plc receive Queen’s Award for Enterprise. The company won the Queen’s Award for International Trade for outstanding continuous growth in overseas sales in the last six years.
2022
Continuation of our sustainability journey. We now have over 5100 solar panels onsite
